Japanese Uchikake - Wedding Kimono.  1950s.

Rinzu silk wedding kimono with gold, silver and silk embroidery.  50½" across the shoulders;  71"long.  This luxurious kimono, with its bamboo, flowers and cloud motif, would have been worn open, for the bride's wedding reception, with the heavy padded hem holding it outward in back like a train. Kimono like this are normally displayed hanging with the back forward and the front panels pulled to the sides as in the photo.  It is a lovely garment in excellent condition. SALE:  $650
