Japanese Tomesode
1950s. 

This is a formal woman's kimono, with five mon (crests) and bold hand-painted floral design. Two of the crests are in the front, and three in the back, across the shoulders. The design  incorporates yuzen dyeing, gold couching and stencilled segments.  It is 51"across the shoulders; 62" long. This exceptionally colorful and bold formal kimono is in excellent condition.  It would have been worn by a married woman, or possibly a geisha.  SALE:  $225
