I have placed here some special pieces that should be of interest to collectors of Japanese kimono and other textile art.  They have historic interest, rarity, age, quality, and special artistry.  They are pieces that most of us would  recommend hanging for display. There are several garments on the accompanying kimono page that are truly worthy of being called "collectors' pieces" also, especially some of the yuzen dyed garments and shibori pieces, but those can also be worn with care.  Many of the best hand-decorated vintage pieces are becoming increasingly valuable as their rarity becomes more evident and their beauty and superb craftsmanship are more widely appreciated.
